Zemach is developed by No Context Studios ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data Zemach collects, how it's used, and what choices you have.
Zemach is built to keep your data on your device by default. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
By default, everything you enter in Zemach — journal reflections, habit tracking, mood entries, and your app settings — is stored only on your device. We don't have a server that receives or stores this information, and we can't see it.
If you choose to enable backup (a Pro feature), Zemach will ask to connect to your Google account so it can save a copy of your data to a private, hidden storage space in your own Google Drive — specifically, Drive's "app data" folder, which is not visible in your regular Drive file list and cannot be accessed by any other app.
Zemach does not require you to create an account or sign in to use the core app. The only time Zemach asks you to sign in is if you choose to turn on Google Drive backup, described above.
You can optionally lock Zemach behind a PIN you set, or your device's own fingerprint/face unlock. This is enforced entirely on your device — we never see or store this PIN anywhere but your device, and biometric unlock is handled by your device's own operating system, not by us.
If you add Zemach's home screen widgets, they display information (like your current streak) that's already stored locally on your device. No additional data is collected or transmitted to show these widgets.
Zemach can send local reminders (e.g., an evening journaling reminder) directly from your device. These are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve sending any data to us or anyone else.
Zemach lets you export your own data (as a backup file, or as a shareable "Almanac" summary image) so you can save or share it yourself. Anything you choose to export or share is under your control — we are not involved in where you send it.
Zemach is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Zemach after a change means you accept the updated policy.
